FUJI
Unique piece
Height: 6.7cm
Width: 45cm
Length: 63.5cm
A book collector came to the workshop with a manuscript to create a case to protect it. The book is a collection of poems on Mount Fuji illustrated with calligraphy included in circles.
The poems, the title and the illustrations call for contemplation. Kostia wanted to transcribe this spirit and create a box that intrigues and prepares the reader for a discovery of its content.
The box is in Tamo, with a circular patinated bronze inlay in the presence of the artist calligrapher.
The hinges were designed and created by the workshop so that once opened the box is completely flat.
